How to use the invoice generator

    1. Enter your own details: the name you trade under, your address and, if you are VAT registered, your VAT number. In Greece that is your tax number (AFM) with the EL prefix.
    2. Add your client's name and address, and their VAT number when you sell to a business in another EU country.
    3. Give the invoice a number. Invoice numbers must follow one unbroken sequence, so use the next number in your series rather than starting again.
    4. Add one line per service: a clear description, the quantity (hours, days or 1 for a fixed price) and the unit price before VAT.
    5. Pick the VAT treatment. The note printed on the invoice changes with it, and you can edit the wording.
    6. Press "Print or save as PDF". In the print dialog choose "Save as PDF" as the printer, and switch off the browser's own headers and footers for a clean page.

    What the VAT choices mean

    • Standard rate. You charge VAT at your normal rate.
    • Small business exemption. You use your country's small business scheme (e.g. Greece art. 39).
    • Reverse charge (EU business). B2B services to a business in another EU country. The customer pays the VAT; put both VAT numbers on the invoice.
    • Outside the scope (foreign customer). The place of supply is the customer's country (B2B services abroad, or outside the EU/UK). No VAT from you.
    • Exempt supply. The service itself is exempt (e.g. some education, medical or financial services).
    • Not VAT registered. You're below the registration threshold, so you can't charge VAT or show a VAT number.

The standard rate in Greece is 24%, with reduced rates of 13% and 6% for some goods and services; most freelance services use 24%. The notes are the same wording TrackLode prints on its own invoices. They are sensible defaults, not tax advice: confirm the treatment for your case with your accountant. The guides on the VAT reverse charge and on EU VAT wording explain when each applies.

    Withholding tax on Greek invoices

When a freelancer in Greece invoices a business, the client usually withholds 20% income tax from fees above EUR 300 and pays it to the tax office for you. The invoice then shows the total with VAT, the amount withheld, and the amount you actually receive. Enter the rate in "Income tax withheld" and the generator adds both lines; leave it at 0 for private clients and clients abroad.

    Greek invoices and myDATA

This generator makes a PDF. It does not issue a structured e-invoice and does not report anything to AADE. In Greece invoices must be reported to myDATA, and for most business clients they must be issued through a certified e-invoicing provider or AADE's own tools. Use the generator for a draft or a pro forma, or where a PDF invoice is accepted, and check with your accountant how your invoices must be issued.

    Is my data safe?

Everything you type stays in this browser tab. The page has no form that sends data, makes no network requests from the generator, sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, so closing the tab clears it. That also means there is no history: keep the PDF you save.

    Questions

Is the invoice generator really free?

Yes. There is no account, no trial and no watermark. Fill in the form, then print the invoice or save it as a PDF.

Do you keep a copy of my invoice?

No. The invoice is built in your browser and never sent to TrackLode. Nothing is stored, so save the PDF before you close the tab.

Can I use it for an invoice to a client in another EU country?

Yes. Choose the reverse charge treatment, add both VAT numbers, and the invoice carries the reverse charge note with no VAT added.
