Questions, answered
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan has no time limit and signing up doesn't need a credit card. Tracking time is unlimited; Free includes 2 clients and 3 new invoices a month, and Pro removes both limits and adds the browser extension, sending invoices from your own email and PDFs without the TrackLode line. Pro is paid in advance, monthly or yearly, and renews automatically until you cancel; you can cancel from the Plan page at any time, and Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for. No VAT is added. In the EU, Pro is for businesses with a VAT number.
Do I need to be VAT registered?
No. Choose “Not VAT registered” (or the Greek article 39 small-business exemption) in Settings and your invoices show no VAT and no VAT number, with a short legend explaining why. If you are registered, add your VAT number and pick the right treatment for each invoice.
Which VAT situations does it cover?
Standard rate, zero-rated, exempt, EU reverse charge, outside the scope (customers outside your VAT area), not VAT registered and the small-business exemption. TrackLode suggests a treatment from your status and your client's country and prints the matching legend, which you can edit. These are suggestions, not tax advice: your accountant has the final say.
How does TrackLode stop me billing the same hours twice?
When you create an invoice from tracked time, those entries lock to it. Delete the line and its hours are released again; void the invoice and all of them are free.
Can I invoice in different currencies?
Yes. Each client and each invoice has its own currency (EUR, USD, GBP and CHF to start), and totals are never mixed across currencies.
Can I email invoices from TrackLode?
Yes, in one click. The PDF is attached, replies go straight to you, and you can send yourself a copy. On Pro you can also send from your own email address, through your own mail server.
What time zone does TrackLode use?
Yours. TrackLode detects your time zone and uses it for “today”, weeks, months and the dates on your PDFs. You can change it any time in Settings.
Is my data private?
Your clients, hours and invoices are visible only to you in the app. A few authorised staff can see account details and counts for support and security, never for marketing; the privacy policy lists exactly what. We don't sell data or show ads, and you can export invoices (PDF) and timesheets (CSV) whenever you like. The privacy policy has the details.
Does it work on my phone?
TrackLode is a responsive web app, so you can start the timer from any browser. There isn't a native app yet.
